About Us

My name is Catherine Regan; I have been involved in childcare since 1996. I have run my own nurseries since 2001. As a qualified NNEB Nursery Nurse and pre-school owner/manager I like to think that I know a thing or two about this essential service, which is now a vital part of modern life. My pre-school is situated at St Luke's Parish Hall in Kirklake Road, Formby. As you pass Formby train station going towards the pine woods, it is just after Woodlands Road on the right. It is a church hall on its own with a small car park.

We are Ofsted registered:

Please look through our site to find out how I can provide you and your children with first class childcare facilities in the heart of Formby. We take children from any time 'after' their second birthday.

We have a strong, extremely dedicated team of qualified Practitioners, led by two excellent Managers Lynda Birtles and Martine Platt; all are CRB/DBS checked and attend regular training to suit their changing needs.

We are not just a preschool – we are an extension of your family.

NB. Pine Pixies originally held 'two' sites, yet our older one at Elbow Lane in Formby has now closed and been amalgamated into the larger Kirklake Road facility. Due to the Early Years Curriculum, which childcare providers follow, we found that the Elbow Lane facility no longer fitted our needs. Therefore, the closure of Elbow Lane and the amalgamation of the two facilities was a vital part of moving Pine Pixies forward and ensuring that the needs of our children were met. We have gone from strength to strength and are now able to offer parents even more choice of sessions.

Free grant funding is available for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.

We also accept Childcare vouchers. The voucher scheme is to change from early 2017 so please see this link https://www.gov.uk/government/news/tax-free-childcare-10-things-parents-should-know

For three and four year old children please follow this link.

Some two-year-olds can also get free early education and childcare. If your child is eligible, you can start claiming after they turn two. The date you can claim will depend on when their birthday is. Please see this link http://www.sefton.gov.uk/schools-learning/early-years-and-childcare/free-childcare-for-two-year-olds.aspx
